Eva WILLCOX House of Bricks Reflection

 My favourite Lego activity was building the racing car because we got to have partners and you got to learn about the cars. I learnt you need to have weight at the back and aerodynamics at the front. 

My least favourite Lego activity was Mosaics because we had to sit for a long time. 

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was the racing cars because we had to keep testing and make changes to the car and we had to do this many many times. 

The most challenging activity was Mosaic because I had to think of patterns and I find patterns hard to create.

I did enjoy working collaboratively with others because I got to talk with others and think of ideas together. The people I worked with helped with ideas. But with the tower, the big kids kept knocking it down and that was annoying and they also kept taking control of us Tumu kids. Maybe building the tower with only 4 people would have been better. 😺

   Today I will be telling you how to take care of a dog.

When taking care of the dog you need to remember These 3 rules.

The first rule is food. When taking care of the dog you  need to know what food to give you. You can feed your dog one or two times a day. It's best to do it twice daily at 8-12 hour intervals and this is what you're not supposed to feed dogs chocolate, avocado, onions and cooked bones.

The second thing is exercise makes your dog very happy. You need to walk your dog on

time a day. If you see people walking their dog you must ask the owner if their dog is ok to pat.

Last thing your dog needs is TLC tender  love and care

Junk Food Banned at School

This week for wanting we about sentence structures We wrote about junk food been at school In my opinion I didn't like the idea of junk food being banned at school this is why

In my opinion, we should have a little bit of junk food. We should be able to choose what we get for our lunch. Some people have allergies and dont have all the choices. This is why junk food is a good option. 

For example chocolate increases brain power, ice cream has fibre, hot chips have vitamins and minerals. This is good for your body.

This week in writing we weren't learning about kindness Watch about the little girl and her mum walking into the Instruments for kids with a box.

Umbrella.

 Early one horrible morning the door to Miss Elem’s Home For children swings open.  

The girl with the bright Yellow umbrella cautiously entered the orphanage before finding a hlder for the Umbrella.

 Not wanting to be seen, Boris quickly whipped his Make sure the Others did not  see him from view. 

Standing off to the side the girl observed the joyful scene went the children searcted in the box for hidden treasvres.

The girl smiled as she watched the young boy racing around the room like a car.

Her smile Slowly faded as she looked back to the umbrella stand and all she saw were puddles

         Her Amazing 

umbrella was gone.

  This week for Maths we are doing graphs. The topic was birthdays months. We had to make two grapes using Google Sheets. 

In the end April had the most birthdays and July had the least birthdays. April had 12 and July had 1.

Margaret Mahy

Margaret Mahy 

My school went to Margaret Mahy playground. It was very cold but it didn't stop Tumu Hub. The first activity was Margaret Mahy with Mrs Carney. we learnt about Margaret Mahy and  Ancient history.  

The second activity was learning about mats and tuna (eels) with Mrs Bryce. She taught us a lot then we got to play on the playground. Then it was my turn to meet the Eels. I saw big slippery eels. 

The third activity was the Waka. We had to listen to commands. It was very very Fun! Under the Boat I saw slippery Eels When we got out of the boat it still felt like we  were still in it.

The fourth activity was Victoria Square with Mrs Brown.  There was a pou. And a James Cook statue. Mrs Brown set us a task we had to draw a pou.

Good things have to come to an end. We had to leave Margaret Mahy I was a bit sad but I'm glad to get back to school and rest at home.

 We are learning to expand our sentences by adding detail.

In the afternoon, they had an argument in the playground because she was being bossy.

Te reo

 This week in Te Reo whakatauki I really enjoy 

 ANZAC   Biscuits                                                                                                        This week in class we have been learning about ANZAC day. The teacher's made us Google  drawing about ANZAC day.  

Ingredients                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           3/4 desiccated coconut

1 cup rolled oat

1 cup plain flour 

3/4 cup sugar

140g butter

3 tsp golden syrup

3 tablespoons hot water

1 tsp bicarb soda

Method

Heat oven to 170* C.

What you do 

Mix flour, oats, coconut and sugar in a large bowl.

Melt butter in a saucepan. Add water and golden syrup and mix well.

Add baking soda, allow to foam then pour into the dry ingredients.

Mix well then take small pieces of the mixture, roll into a ball and press out lightly on a greased or lined oven tray.

Allow room between each for spreading.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden.

Allow the ANZAC biscuits to cool slightly on the trays before moving to a cooling rack.

So I added three too 47 to get 50

Then I added 54 to 50 which is 104

Then I took away the three that I added on which leaves 101

         My goal for this week is How to make a good blog post. I learned a lot about making it quality. This is what I discovered.

When you are blogging you need a catchy title. You need an introduction. 2 or 3 good sentences about what you did and a question at the end. For a comment you need to say something positive like I love your …..because…. And this is amazing because……
